Medical Clinic Mälarsjukhuset
Are you interested in palliative care? We are looking for someone who wants to work with symptom relief at a specialist level.
About us
The palliative unit currently consists of a palliative ward with 10 beds and SSIH with 25-35 fully connected patients. We work in teams with other healthcare professionals to care for patients at the end of life, either at home or in our ward. The palliative unit belongs to the medical clinic at Mälarsjukhuset, which creates advantages for collegial exchange and educational opportunities.
Your responsibilities
We are looking for someone with clinical experience where interest in palliative care is more important than the specialties you have worked in. You should be used to working independently and able to make ethical decisions where guidelines exist, but individual assessments must still be made. There is room for meaningful conversations with patients and relatives. If you want to work in our team, you can help shape your duties and distribution between SSIH and ward responsibilities. In the ward, you will also be responsible for supervising junior doctors placed in the ward.
Your qualifications
Specialist competence in palliative medicine, or experience working with palliative patients, is of course an advantage. We also welcome those who do not yet have any experience but are interested in advanced symptom relief (regardless of the specialty you have previously worked in). If you are aiming for an additional specialty in Palliative Medicine, we can also offer an ST block. We provide solid on-site supervision and good opportunities for education. We place great emphasis on an engaged interest in palliative care and a good team spirit, as well as the willingness to advance palliative care. There is room for part-time work if interested.
